Wolverines have ‘a lot of work to do’ even after 22-point win

Head coach Jasper Jewell’s football team will go into its Friday game against Tucker with a little more confidence after picking up a 34-12 win over Stone Mountain. Gerald Hatchett led the way with over 150 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Mydrikus Ealey started at quarterback for Miller Grove ( 1-1-1 ) and found Stephen Hill for a touchdown for the third consecutive game. Kendrick Ings saw his first action at quarterback of the season and played extensively in the second half. Despite the 22-point win, Jewell wanted his team to stay focused as they moved forward. “Enjoy the victory, but we’ve got a lot of work to do,” Jewell told his team. … Though the softball team did not have a great week last week, losing to Marist 15-0 and Chamblee 11-0, Crystal Richmond has been one of the better players in the county this year. Through her first 17 at-bats, she was hitting .706 with three home runs. … Davon Autry finished 24th overall during his race at the county’s second cross country meet of the season. He completed the Shamrock course in 24:09.10.
