Freeman not only shattered the state record in the 500 freestyle at last weekend’s state swimming and diving championships at Westminster, he broke a national independent high school record with his time of 4:19.32. The title-winner in the Class 4A-A division knocked nearly nine seconds off the previous state record time. Freeman also finished second in the 200 freestyle.
