Bulldog fans may be disappointed with the 2008-09 men’s basketball season, but according to the AJC’s Furman Bisher, help may be on the way. On Saturday, Bisher reported a source told him Bobby Knight would “like to be offered [the head coaching position], and if offered, he’d take it.”
Knight is the winningest coach in men’s NCAA Division I history, recording 902 wins over his career with Army, Indiana and Texas Tech. He will always be best known for his time at Indiana, where he won 661 games and three national titles. In 1975-76, Knight led the Hoosiers to a 32-0 record for the title, which remains the last time an NCAA Division I men’s basketball team finished a season with an undeafeated record.
Will Knight become the newest member of Bulldog Nation?
