Wildcats keep rolling with win over Towers

The football team continued its dream season, remaining undefeated in a 49-16 thrashing over Towers to advance its record to 6-0. The Wildcats got off to a fast start in the game and never looked back against an undermanned Towers team. They now have a Region 5-AAA title in their sights with just three games remaining. They host a formidable Columbia Eagles team on Friday at 7:30 p.m. One of the keys will be how the defense handles a strong Columbia run game. The team will also meet McNair at North DeKalb Stadium on Oct. 24. … The boys cross country team finished 23rd at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C., on Saturday. James Dwyer finished 43rd overall with a time of 17:53. Luke Olney finished next for the Wildcats in 102nd place with a time of 18:29. The girls team also ran in the event, finishing 31st. Charlotte Collins crossed the line in 21:56, good for 59th overall. … The softball team closed out the regular season with a narrow 8-6 loss to Riverwood.
