Wildcats get revenge after 2007 playoff defeat

The football team defeated Class 3A Carrollton 24-7 on Friday at Kent Field in Buckhead. The Wildcats were able to avenge two losses to the Trojans from last season, the first a 25-9 regular season defeat and the second a 22-0 playoff loss that ended the Wildcats’ season. Gary Romberg’s Cats hope to advance to the state playoffs for the second year in a row. The Wildcats play host to Woodward Academy Friday night at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team is currently 6-3 and riding a four-game winning streak. The Lady Cats played Central Gwinnett on Tuesday night, but results were not available at press time. Westminster will take on Decatur at home on Thursday before traveling to Adairsville for the Tiger Town Double-header on Friday and Saturday. … The fifth-ranked volleyball team is 3-0 heading into two Thursday games at St. Pius against the Golden Lions and Dacula.. … The cross country teams each won their first meets of the season. The boys won The Kosh Classic, while the girls defeated Decatur and Blessed Trinity.
