The high school football season in the rear view mirror and recruiting outlets across the nation have updated their Class of 2025 player rankings for the final time, drawing an official close to the season. The updated player rankings featured many high school football stars from the state of Georgia as they continue on their journey to the next level.
While the rankings are a little different across all four recruiting platforms, there is no denying the amount of talent comes out of Georgia.
One of the top players in the Class of 2025, and one that has remained at the top throughout all updates to the rankings is Savannah Christian defensive lineman, Elijah Griffin. Griffin has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart since October of 2024 and has been an impressive product throughout his high school career. In his senior season, Griffin played in nine out of 11 games, totaling 53 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks, leading Savannah Christian to the quarterfinals. Throughout his recruitment, Griffin has been a consistent top player in his class, and continued to show that on the field this season.
Along with Griffin, a handful of future Georgia Bulldogs are seen in the rankings as some of the top players in the country such as Isaiah Gibson, Elyiss Williams, Zayden Walker, Juan Gaston, CJ Wiley and Chase Linton.
While there are a handful of Bulldogs, a pair of Georgia Tech commitments could look to make some noise in the ACC next season when safety Tae Harris and offensive linemen Josh Petty arrive on The Flats. By the numbers, both Tech-commits are some of the highest-rated recruits to ever commit to the program, Petty a 5-star and Harris a 4-star recruit.
Harris, originally a Clemson-commit, flipped to the Yellow Jackets in November of 2024 after a terrific senior season where he played on both sides of the ball for Cedartown. Harris led his team in rushing with over 1,000 yards on the season as well as having over 200 yards receiving through the air, totaling 18 offensive touchdowns. In his natural position at safety, Harris was third on the team in tackles with 70 total on the season.
Florida State was able to make a splash in the early signing day window, as they were able to flip former Lee County running back and Score Atlanta’s first-ever Mr. Georgia award-winner, Ousmane Kromah. In his senior season, Kromah accounted for over 2,100 all-purpose yards including 1,356 yards on the ground and 741 through the air to go along with 23 total touchdowns on the season. In a new look offense for the Seminoles under newly hired offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, Kromah could be a real weapon in Tallahassee in 2025. Kromah along with Greene County defensive linemen, Kevin Wynn are two big names the Seminoles were able to land from Georgia in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
