The 2025 Track and Field season will set the stage for some of the nation’s most accomplished seniors and the highest-rated overall prospect is Westlake senior and Georgia-commit Sidi Nijie—who has starred for the Lions over the past three years. Nijie is a five-star with a 97 overall rating and is the No. 2 rated prospect in the nation for the Class of 2025.
This leads reigning Track Athlete of the Year Maurice Gleaton—who is also a five-star and is committed to UGA. Westlake will compete in Class 6A and Gleaton will be in Class 5A this year and so both have a chance at dominating the field and creating a two-man race for athlete of the year before they become teammates at the collegiate level. Etowah’s Luke Stradley is the top jumper in the nation and is ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect. He is committed to the University of Florida.
Gleaton Jr. is coming off an incredible junior season.
He earned top finishes in all four events he competed in last year at state to help the Panthers take the Class 6A team title and capture back-to-back state championships after Hughes won its first championship program history in 2023. Gleaton built off his record-setting sophomore season and solidified his reputation for the state of Georgia’s top sprinter. Gleaton’s four first-place finishes this year included the 100 meter (10.31) and 200 meter (20.89) dash in addition to the 4×100 relay (40:95) and 4×200 relay (1:25.84).
On the girls side, Druid Hills twins Sanaa and Sole Frederick have graduated after concluding a brilliant career and have opened the window for the next super star to emerge. Last spring, the twins and seniors Sanaa and Sole concluded their varsity careers with photo finishes and state records that helped the program earn a runner-up finish in Class 4A this season. Sanaa and Sole took first and second place in the 100 meter with 11:444 and 11:446 marks. In the 200 meter, both sister’s broke Sanaa’s 2023 meet record of 23.30 with Sanaa clocking a 23.16 and Sole finishing second (23.32). The Frederick sisters accounted for 36 points 100 and 200 meter dashes and also led the 4×100 meter relay (45.24) and 4×400 meter relay (3:54.20) teams first-place finishes.
This year, the highest-rated girl athlete is Monroe’s Marianna Wright—who is a four-star that specializes in the hurdles and sprints. Below you will see the highest-rated boys and girls in the Class of 2025 that will be headlining this year’s track and field season.
