Week 9 Boys Lacrosse Rankings

In Division 1, there is a new No. 1 at the helm. No. 1 Marist takes the top spot and are currently on an eight-game winning streak. The War Eagles will get a chance to prove if they are worthy of keeping the top spot with a top-three showdown against Wesleyan on Friday. No. 2 Allatoona is on a three-game winning streak, picking up wins over Harrison and Mount Paran this week. No. 3 Wesleyan went 1-1 this week, picking up a 20-1 win over Mount Pisgah and suffering a nail-biting 13-12 loss to Division 3 No. 2 Buford. No. 4 Lovett picked up wins over Pace Academy and Holy Innocents’. No. 5 St. Pius X makes its debut in the top five for the first time this season after an overtime victory over George Walton Academy. Starr’s Mill, Greater Atlanta Christian, Cambridge, Whitewater, and Pace Academy round out the poll.

In Division 2, No. 1 Lassiter went 2-0 this week, picking up wins over Walton and Kennesaw Mountain. No. 2 Roswell had an idle week and will face out-of-state Issaquah (WA) on April 15th. No. 3 Milton defeated Buford 11-10 this past week in a top non-classification matchup. No. 4 Woodstock had an idle week. No. 5 Lakeside-Evans continues its hot streak, extending it to five games after picking up a road win over rival Evans 13-5. Benedictine, Savannah Country Day, Northgate, Decatur, and Hebron Christian round out the poll. No. 10 Hebron Christian is on a two-game losing streak after falling to North Gwinnett and Oconee County but hangs onto its top-10 spot.

In Division 3, No. 1 Lambert had an idle week but will face Forsyth Central, South Forsyth, and McCallie (TN) during spring break week. No. 2 Buford remains a top-two team despite its six losses this year. The Wolves defeated No. 3 Wesleyan in Division 1 and lost by a lone goal to Division 2 No. 3 Milton. Buford also has a head-to-head win over Mill Creek, 19-8. No. 3 Mill Creek picked up wins over Collins Hill (23-0) and George Walton Academy (15-8). No. 4 Denmark had an idle week and will face West Forsyth and East Forsyth in the upcoming week. No. 5 North Paulding defeated Alpharetta this past week, 14-8 on the road. North Cobb, Brookwood, Carrollton, Alpharetta, and West Forsyth round out the poll. No. 10 West Forsyth is barely clinging onto its top-10 ranking after enduring a four-game losing streak, but they had an idle week and will face No. 4 Denmark this week. Brookwood and Carrollton each received bumps this week.
