In Class 7A, North Gwinnett comes in at No. 7 after toppling Mill Creek 31-0 and posting the program’s third shutout of the season. Class 6A saw Douglas County get replaced in the top 10 by Houston County after the Bears’ 7-0 win over Class 5A Veterans, which fell from No. 7 to No. 10 after its loss.
In Class 4A, Carver-Columbus climbed from No. 5 to No. 3 after its 36-14 win over LaGrange improved the Tigers’ overall record to 4-0. Elsewhere in Class 4A, Cedartown and Baldwin replaced Northwest Whitfield and Hapeville Charter in the polls.
The top-5 in Class 3A did not shift but for the first time in school history, Cherokee Bluff entered the top 10 at No. 9.
Callaway leads Class 2A ahead of Fitzgerald, Rabun County, Bleckley County and Haralson County. In Class A-Private, Athens Academy takes over the top spot as ELCA slid to third. Prince Avenue Christian is No. 2 and Fellowship Christian and Wesleyan round out the top 5.
In Class A-Public, Metter is the team to beat ahead of Irwin County, Commerce, Brooks County and Dublin.
