Former No. 1 Milton fell to No. 6 Forsyth Central on March 20 while Lassiter got back on track with two wins in a row over Kell and Woodstock to overtake Milton for the top spot in Class AAAAAAA. Milton settles at No. 2. Parkview, Peachtree Ridge and Mill Creek round out the top five.
Johns Creek again leads in Class AAAAAA with Creekview chasing at No. 2. Harrison moved up to third this week as Sequoyah fell to fourth. Pope, previously No. 5, fell to sixth while Dacula moved up one spot to fifth.
McIntosh leads Class AAAAA again this week despite coming off a loss to Class AAA’s No. 1 Westminster on March 24. No. 2 Flowery Branch is stating its case as the best team in the class, however. The Lady Falcons are 12-0-0, and being No. 2 behind a 9-1-1 McIntosh program is fuel for Flowery Branch. Veterans, Decatur and Starr’s Mill round out the top five.
Following its 2-1 victory over then-No. 1 Marist on March 22, Blessed Trinity moved to the top of Class AAAA. Marist settles for second. St. Pius X remains in the No. 3 spot with Northside-Columbus moving from fifth to fourth. North Oconee, previously sixth, moved up to fifth following Spalding’s fall from fourth to 10th.
In Class AAA, the top five teams are playing to form, and no shift was seen this week. Westminster still holds the top ranking with Lovett, GAC, Savannah Arts and Lumpkin County chasing.
Defending champion St. Vincent’s is holding off last year’s state runner-up East Laurens in Class AA. Lamar County is third and Screven County, previously sixth, moved up to fourth. Vidalia is still fifth this week.
Previous No. 1 Holy Innocents’ fell 2-0 to Paideia on March 22 allowing Athens Academy to move to the top of Class A. First Presbyterian is second and Holy Innocents’ settles at third. Brookstone, previously sixth, moved to fourth with Savannah Country Day still in the No. 5 spot.
