How the game was won: Grayson scored its most points and notched its biggest blowout in school history at the expense of visiting Berkmar. And it could have been much worse. The Rams rolled to an incredible 49-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and recorded the game’s first 63 points. Not a single point was scored by either team in the entire second half as a running clock brought a mercifully swift end to the proceedings.

The Lions led 14-0 after one quarter, 28-0 at halftime and 35-0 heading into the fourth before Mountain View finally got on the scoreboard with nine minutes remaining.

Top performers: Peachtree Ridge scored twice on defense in the second quarter. Breon Dixon had a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown and DeAngelo Gibbs turned in a 22-yard scoop and score. Gibbs also hauled in a 26-yard scoring strike from Fred Payton in the first quarter. How the game was won: Norcross jumped out to a 26-0 halftime lead an would never look back en route to a 47-0 win. Quarterback Max Tracey was efficient on the night finishing 4-of-7 for 64 yards and three passing touchdowns. Norcross moved to 5-0.

Top Performers:Robert Sims hauled in three touchdown passes… Omar Sinclair finished the night with 40 yards rushing and a touchdown… Defensively Chris Allen scored on a 26-yard interception returned for touchdown and Monty Montgomery returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown.

Newnan 20, South Cobb 10

How the game was won: After falling behind 10-0 at the half, Newnan would shut out South Cobb and come from behind for a 20-10 win. Two Rad Wyrick field goals would get Newnan on the board first before Darryel Hines ran in a 1-yard touchdown with nine seconds left in the third. Newnan recovered a fumble with just less than four minutes left in the game to preserve the win.

 Top Performers: Rad Wyrick kicked field goals of 29 and 31 yards… Hines’ third quarter touchdown run proved to be the game winner.

Dacula 14, Shiloh 7

How the game was won: Dacula held off visiting Shiloh in a defensive battle thanks to some timely forced turnovers. The Falcons scored the game’s first 14 points with touchdowns in the first and third quarters before Shiloh finally got on the scoreboard. A scoreless fourth quarter prevented the Generals from getting any closer.

How the game was won: Creekview converted two Cass turnovers into touchdowns and never looked back. A power outage would delay the game over an hour but it would not slow down Creekview, who took a 21-7 lead into the half. Cass scored a late touchdown in the third quarter but could not muster enough offense to produce a tying score.

Top Performers: Creekview quarterback Kyle Wilkie threw for a touchdown and ran for a touchdown… Cade Radam capped off a long touchdown drive with a 1 yard plunge in the second quarter… Trevor Kolb caught Wilkie’s touchdown pass… Laizon West’s 54-yard touchdown run was the only scoring in the second half.

Gainesville 28, Heritage-Conyers 0

How the game was won: Gainesville dominateed the first half while cruising the four-touchdown victory. The loss sent Heritage-Conyers to its first 0-5 start since 1987. Messiah Dorsey finished the first half 15-of-19 passing for 149 yards and two touchdowns and the defense would yield only 107 yards as Gainesville led 14-0 at the half.

Top Performers: Blake Davis tossed a 38-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7 and then would hit Brody Frazier for a 44-yard score in the second quarter to take the lead. …Tucker Gregg scored on a 1-yard run for the Indians.

Butler 27, Westside-Augusta 19 (2OT)

How the game was won: Devon Robinson intercepted Matthew Peavler at the goal line to secure a sloppy victory in double overtime. Westside had an opportunity to win the game at the end of regulation, but a 45-yard field goal was pushed left and was short. In the first overtime, Robinson scored on a 15-yard run but the Bulldogs had their extra point blocked, giving Westside a chance to win with a score and a converted XP. Aaron Commings score on a pitch for the Patriots, but Westside once again missed the kick which would end up dooming the host.
