Week 6 Football Rankings

In Class 6A, there was no movement this week as a result of no team in the top 10 losing. No. 1 Carrollton scored a 48-26 road win over Parker (AL), No. 2 Buford shutout Discovery 46-0 and No. 3 North Gwinnett defeated Parkview 52-13. No. 4 Valdosta and No. 5 Douglas County were off this week and No. 6 Mill Creek topped Mountain View 42-0. No. 7 Camden County observed a bye week, No. 8 Collins Hill topped Central Gwinnett 17-7 and No. 9 North Cobb defeated rival Walton 42-14 on the road. At No. 10, Colquitt County defeated Rickards (FL) 44-13.

No. 1 Milton picked up their second shutout victory in a 47-0 victory against Chattahoochee.  No. 2 Hughes defeated Dutchtown 57-14 led by Christian Langford with three passing touchdowns. No. 3 Thomas County Central was idle this week. No. 4 Coffee picked up a 10-7 win against Daytona Beach Mainland (FL). No. 5 Gainesville got back to its winning ways in a 50-14 win against Lanier.  No. 6 Lee County crossed 60 points for the second time this season in their win against Wekiva. The Trojans have a huge matchup coming up against Thomas County Central next week. No. 7 Houston County was idle this week. No. 8 Roswell improved to 4-1 after a 41-10 victory against Seckinger. No. 9 Decatur defeated Arabia Mountain 41-6 and are off to their first 5-0 start since 2021. No. 10 Rome has won two consecutive games after a shutout victory against Alexander this past week.

In Class 4A, Perry moved out of the poll after a 31-15 loss to East Coweta and was replaced by Creekside at No. 10. Eastside, Cedartown and Cambridge each moved up a spot.

No. 1 Sandy Creek improves to 3-0 in region play after a 45-0 victory against Trinity Christian. No. 2 Peach County makes its highest ranking of the season in the poll after a 50-7 win against Northside-Warner Robins. No. 3 Long County defeated Beach 30-17. No. 4 Westover continues to roll on offense and shut out Jackson 36-0. The Patriots have scored 36 points or more in the past four games. No. 5 Monroe Area suffered its first loss of the season against Hart County. No. 6 Jefferson had an idle week. No. 7 LaGrange leaned on Malachi Render-Fannin four touchdowns to lead them past Spalding. No. 8 Northwest Whitfield has its first 5-0 start since 2013 when it went 9-2 and made it to the playoffs. No. 9 Mary Persons was idle this week. No. 10 Cherokee Bluff made its debut in the poll for the first time this season despite having an idle week. Upson-Lee dropped out of the poll after suffering its third loss to Whitewater.

The Class 2A poll shifted with Callaway moving up to No. 7 following its 34-6 win over Redan and Sumter County sliding to No. 10 after a narrow 15-14 win over Shaw.

No. 1 Toombs County moved to 5-0 after a 61-0 win against Hamilton County (FL).  No. 2 Dublin defeated Jefferson County 56-0. No. 3 Fitzgerald edged Worth County 28-21.  No. 4 Fannin County cruised to its second consecutive shutout victory this week against Dade County (GA). No. 5 Thomasville had their game canceled against Bacon County. No. 6 Rabun County continued with its explosive offense defeating Banks County 31-9. No. 7 Bremen shut out Model in its 31-0 victory against Model. No. 8 Dodge County makes its debut in the poll for the first time this season after a 46-27 victory against East Laurens. No. 9 Jeff Davis suffered its first loss of the season to Brantley County 28-21. No. 10 Northeast-Macon makes its debut in the poll for the first time and has its second consecutive shutout victory in the past two weeks against Jefferson County and Ace Charter. Bleckley County and Model drop out of the poll after falling to 2-3.

No. 1 Bowdon had an idle week. No. 2 Irwin County defeated Cook 48-33 on Friday night. No. 3 Manchester shutout Chapel Hill in a 38-0 victory.  No. 4 Clinch County had an idle week. No. 5 Trion defeated out-of-state Robbinsville (NC) 35-28. No. 6 Greene County had an idle week. No. 7 Metter picked up a 28-7 win against Portal. No. 8 Lincoln County defeated Silver Bluff (SC) 41-15. No. 9 Seminole County suffered an out-of-state loss to Gadsden County (FL) 60-7. No. 10 Brooks County hangs on to its top 10 spot after a close loss to top-ranked Pierce County 17-14.

In Class A-3A Private, Hebron Christian and Prince Avenue Christian remained at No. 2 and No. 3 now that both programs have home losses to Class 4A No. 4 ranked Blessed Trinity on their resumes and Lovett moved up one spot to No. 5.
