No. 2 Mill Creek falls from its perch atop Class AAAAAAA as North Gwinnett takes over at No. 1 following a 5-4 home win against the Hawks in nine innings. The rest of the poll doesn’t see much movement aside from Cherokee dropping out. The Warriors were shutout 4-0 by No. 4 Lassiter. Lowndes replaces Cherokee at No. 10.
The gauntlet of Region 6-AAAAAA is starting to wear on annual powers. Allatoona continues its slide out of the rankings following their second consecutive loss to No. 4 Dalton, 3-2. Freshman Emily Wilkie is raking at .571 with a team-best 19 RBIs and 2 homers. On the mound, sophomore Ashton Maloney has pitched to contact and recorded 7-1 record with a 1.50 ERA. Just like in Class AAAAA, three teams stand above the rest in AA. No. 1 Vidalia (14-0), No. 2 Rockmart (16-1) and No. 3 Harlem (9-1) are feasting on competition. Rockmart crushed No. 8 Pepperell 14-0 while Harlem drilled No. 10 Screven County 16-1. No. 5 Dodge County rises two spots after beating No. 6 Bleckley County 4-3.
