Walton is still the team to beat in Class AAAAAAA, but a charging Central Gwinnett program has taken over the No. 2 spot, moving from third to second while the former No. 2, Parkview, slid to fourth. Norcross takes the No. 3 spot after being fourth last week. Lakeside-DeKalb climbed from No. 8 to No. 5 as Berkmar slid to seventh.
Cambridge is leading Class AAAAAA with a new No. 2, Gainesville, chasing. Gainesville moved from third to second following Dalton’s fall to sixth. Chattahoochee, Allatoona and Johns Creek fill the top five in that order.
Following a loss to then-No. 2 Clarkston, McIntosh fell to second in Class AAAAA. Clarkston’s 3-1 victory over the Chiefs avenged last year’s defeat in the championship match. Former No. 3 Johnson-Gainesville fell to fifth, making room for No. 3 Carrollton and No. 4 Rome.
Chestatee overtook the No. 1 spot, following Woodward’s tumble from first to seventh. Blessed Trinity, previously No. 4, jumped to second this week. Marist, Columbus and Upson-Lee finish out the top five ranked teams.
Westminster and East Hall remain at the top of the class, in that order, but below those two, there were some shifts. North Murray, previously fourth, moved up to third following Sonoraville’s fall to seventh. Savannah Arts, previously sixth, jumped into the top five at fourth. GAC stays at fifth this week.
Jefferson County overtook Benedictine as the top team in Class AA. Benedictine settled to second ahead of Putnam County, Thomasville and Coosa in that order. Harlem, ranked fourth last week, fell to seventh.
The top four stay the same with Paideia, Whitefield Academy, Atlanta International and Pinecrest Academy holding their spots. Previous No. 5 Athens Academy fell to seventh to make room for Georgia Military at the fifth spot.
