Week 12 Football Rankings

In Class 6A, Douglas County dropped two spots to No. 6 after falling 49-28 to No. 1 ranked Carrollton. Grayson and Collins Hill each moved up one spot and Colquitt County returned to No. 8 after clinching the Region 1 title. Mill Creek fell to No. 10 and Valdosta dropped out of the poll after falling to No. 9 Lowndes. Class 5A No. 1 Milton makes history finishing with a 10-0 record for the first time in school history and has won seven straight region championships and owns a 39 game region win streak.  No. 2 Lee County won a shootout in a game that produced 111 points against rival Houston County. No. 3 Hughes defeated Lovejoy 42-6 and look like state title contenders. No. 4 Thomas County Central clinched the No. 2 seed in Region 2-5A after holding Coffee to seven points. No. 5 Brunswick enters the poll for the first time this season after a 57-20 win over South Effingham. No. 6 Woodward Academy finished the season on a seven game winning streak and shut out Lakeside-DeKalb in a 50-0 win. No. 7 Roswell battled with Fulton County rival Milton and made it tough on them. The Hornets came ready to play and showed they could be dangerous come playoff time. No.8 Rome defeated Kennesaw Mountain 50-3. No. 9 Gainesville had an idle week. No. 10 Decatur defeated Tri-Cities 35-0. Coffee and Houston County drop out of the rankings.

No. 1 Peach County ended its season 9-1 and finished region play at 5-1 after a victory over Monroe. No. 2 Sandy Creek won a shootout against Troup County 55-48. No. 3 Jefferson fell to No. 10 Oconee County 32-30 in an overtime thriller. No. 4 Westover handed Cairo its second consecutive loss in a 29-10 win. No. 5 Calhoun finished region play at 6-0 and have won six consecutive games. No. 6 Cherokee Bluff defeated East Hall 52-26. No. 7 LaGrange dropped a nail biter to Upson Lee 18-14. No. 8 Douglass Atlanta fell to unranked Stephenson 15-9. No. 9 Northwest Whitfield has an idle week. No. 10 Oconee County makes its debut after a thrilling win over Jefferson. Long County drops out of the poll.

There is a new No. 1 in the poll this week. No. 1 Dublin defeated No. 9 Dodge County in a back and forth affair 50-33. No. 2 Toombs County drops just one spot after coming up just short in a defensive battle with top-ranked Savannah Christian. No. 3 Fannin County picks up a close 30-27 victory over Gordon Lee. No. 4 Northeast held East Laurens to seven points in a 25 point victory. No. 5 Thomasville shutout Berrien in a 42-0 victory. No. 6 Commerce scored 55 points for the second time this season in a dominant victory over Providence Christian Academy. No. 7 Lamar County defeated Jasper County 28-6. No. 8 Heard County makes its debut for the first time in the poll after a 42-15 win over Pepperell. No. 10 Worth County makes its debut in the poll, and Fitzgerald and Rabun County drop out.

No. 1 Manchester clinched its first region title since 2017 after a 46-7 win over Greenville. No. 2 Bowdon defeated No. 10 Trion 42-16. Bowdon has scored 40+ points in the past three games. No. 3 Lincoln County defeated No. 5 Greene County. Region 2 is up for grabs, after No. 4 Irwin County defeated No. 7 Brooks County 17-14 in a defensive battle. No. 6 Clinch County shutout Lanier County and will have a pivotal region battle next week against Charlton County. No. 8 Metter defeated Bryan County 21-8. No. 9 Jenkins County shutout Savannah in a 48-0 victory.
