Warriors suffer rare shutout at hands of Mustangs

Penalties and turnovers were the downfall of the football team during ITS 13-0 loss to Kennesaw Mountain. The team was shut out for the first time since a 2004 loss to Marietta. The offense had trouble sustaining drives, as penalties and turnovers mounted. Running back Donatello Brown mustered just 39 yards on the ground for the Warriors. Quarterback Even Hester passed for 146 yards. A late 89-yard drive produced no points and stalled on the 3-yard line. The 1-2 Warriors travel to Cherokee this Friday. … The softball team also faced Kennesaw Mountain earlier in the week and it came up with a similar result, losing 2-1. The team scored its only run on an RBI single by Rochelle Mills that scored Tessa Bailey from second base. It was the third-straight loss for the team and the Lady Warrior’s record now stands at 12-7 overall and 4-2 in the region. … The volleyball team beat Brookwood (25-20, 25-20), but lost to Northview (25-15, 25-21). The team plays at Pope in the Cobb County Tournament on Thursday.
