Warriors fall to North Cobb, 35-0

Cherokee, still looking for its first win for this season, held North Cobb in the first half and as Cherokee’s head coach Brian Dameron said at halftime, “We played a heck of a first half, we fought hard and did what we were supposed to do.” In the first quarter, Cherokee started out with a great 51-yard drive by backup quarterback Josh Lemons, but the Warriors failed to score and eventually lost to North Cobb 35-0. … Wednesday the Cherokee Lady Warriors softball team defeated Hillgrove 4-1 and beat Roswell 12-0 earlier in the same day in the Lassiter Invitational Tournament. The two wins that day increased The Lady Warriors’ overall record to 16-4. … Cherokee Volleyball traveled to Kell for a tri-match on Tuesday. The Lady Warriors lost to Woodstock 25-17 in their first game and 25-13 in the second game against Woodstock. While Cherokee started out with a lead of 5-3 with Ashley Fannon picking up two kills, Woodstock eventually pulled away with a 6-1 run. “This season has been a learning experience,” said head coach Melissa Clarke.
