War Eagles win third straight, defeat Spartans

The football team has now won three straight after an opening-night loss to archrival St. Pius X with a 45-20 win over Region 6-AAAA opponent North Springs. Patrick Sullivan led the way for Alan Chadwick’s team by scoring on an 8-yard run and catching a 17-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Farmer. Farmer also connected with Kevin Allman on a 44-yard pass for a score. He finished the game with 135 total passing yards. If the War Eagles have indeed taken the next step, they may prove to be a challenge for No. 1-ranked Tucker this Friday. … The volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, continued its success by beating both North Springs and Southwest DeKalb in straight sets. The Lady War Eagles have now won five of their past six matches. … The softball team scored a 13-1 blowout win over Lakeside on Wednesday, and followed that up with an 8-0 victory over Chamblee the following day. The team went 4-2 in the Greenbrier Tournament over the weekend with wins over Oconee County, Lee County, North Oconee, and Greenbrier.
