Walker Forward Moustapha Diop Named A 5 Star In 247Sports 2026 Rankings

In the latest 247Sports Class of 2026 rankings, Moustapha Diop was the only player in Georgia rated a five-star player, and is the highest-ranked player in the Peach State. According to 247Sports, he is the No.6 overall player in the country, the No.2 power forward, and No.1 in Georgia.Diop holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri, and Ole Miss.

Diop is having an impressive sophomore season for the Walker Wolverines averaging 18 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks per game. He leads the Wolverines in all three categories. He has led Walker to a 15-7 record and a No.1 region record with the season winding down. He will be a key factor in the Wolverines locking down the one seed going into the region tournament in a few weeks.

In his first game of the season against ELCA, Diop recorded a triple-double, finishing the game with 14 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a narrow defeat. So far this season, he has 18 games where he has finished with a double-double and has recorded a double-double in six consecutive games. Diop also recorded a 20-20 game earlier this season against Lovett finishing the game with 23 points and 21 rebounds.

He is a great rim protector and his athletic ability jumps off the page on both ends of the floor when you watch him. Defensively, he is able to switch on pick and rolls and can stay in front of guards. He is also a great weak-side defender that can come over and make his presence felt by opposing offenses.

Offensively, he is adept at getting to the rim and finishing through contact. Diop is good at running in transition and finishing dunks with ease. He also uses his 6’10 215 pound frame to muscle defenders to get to where he wants on the floor. He also possesses a good face-up game and is good at getting to his spots and knocking down jumpers in the mid-range.

Diop is the next great prospect in Georgia, a state known for producing some of the best players in the country. In the last few years Georgia has produced Isaiah Collier (USC), Stephon Castle (UCONN), Ace Bailey (Rutgers), Bruce Thornton (Ohio State), and Jabari Smith (Auburn/Houston Rockets).
