Volleyball: State powers prep for All City Playdate

South Forsyth hosts the second annual All City Playdate on Saturday as the state’s top programs square off to benefit Angels Among Us, an pet rescue organization. Unlike tournament play, the schedule is already set to give us the head-to-head matchups we are looking for. 30 total matches will be played between 14 of metro Atlanta’s top teams. Up to four matches will be played at once with two courts being utilized at South Forsyth and two courts hosting matches four miles south at neighboring Lambert.

Host South Forsyth and Harrison, Sequoyah, North Cobb, Walton, Chattahoochee, East Coweta, Johns Creek, Lassiter, Roswell, Northview, Centennial, Lambert and Landmark Christian highlight the lineup.

The event begins at 8am and right away on Court 1 is Class AAAAAA No. 5 North Cobb and Class AAAAA No. 1 Sequoyah. Sequoyah’s only two losses this season came out-of-state and after taking on the Warriors, the Chiefs face Class AAAAAA’s No. 1 Walton and No. 2 Harrison before ending the day with a Northview in the 2pm time slot.

Harrison is 34-1 and has won 13 straight matches after suffering its first loss of the season to rival Walton. The Hoyas are ranked as the No. 17 team in the nation according to MaxPreps and face Johns Creek and Sequoyah before ending the play date on court 1 in a rematch with top-ranked Walton.
