It was another fantastic season for the volleyball team, as it again won the Class 5A State Championship, defeating Lassiter and Pope in the final two matches to take the crown. Northview lost the first game to Lassiter, only to win three out of the final four to take the match 3-2. It was a little easier in the championship match, as Northview took the championship in just four games. The title was Northview’s third in the last four years. Also, Ashley Veach and Lauren Busing were named to the 2008 Volleyball All-Star game this past week. … Unfortunately, the football season did not go as well, as the Titans lost to Mill Creek on Oct. 31, 56-14. Northview scored just before halftime on a 24-yard pass to Jarrod Neser, and again when Rashad Conner returned the second-half kickoff 94 yards for a score. The Titans ended the season with a 47-20 loss to North Forsyth, scoring the most points they had all season. … The cross country teams each finished sixth at the Region 7-AAAAA championship meet on Nov. 1 in Suwanee.
