Football continues turnaround season, will take on Villa Rica

First-year head football coach Kenneth Miller could not have thought things would go this well this season. Miller inherited a team that over the last four years had lost 28 games, while at the same time only winning 12. After moving back to Class 4A, the team now sits at 3-5 with a chance to reach the state playoffs. The Bulldogs’ third win of the year came in a blowout victory over Douglas County on Friday night. The offense came out firing early and never looked back, as Tri-Cities won 26-0. Leading the offense was Duran Jones, who rushed for 124 yards and scored two touchdowns. The star running back scored from 58 and 44 yards out. Jontae Davis was very effective at quarterback, only missing on three of his 13 passes. Also playing well was the Bulldog defense, throwing its first shutout all season. Making the win even sweeter was the fact that the victory came a week after a heartbreaking loss to Alexander, 7-6. This week, the Bulldogs travel to take on Villa Rica on Friday night.
