Top Prospects To Watch This Lacrosse Season

With the lacrosse season in full swing including marquee matchups already taking place, it’s time to take a look at some of the boys top prospects to watch this season as they look to make their mark on the sport. Several had critical seasons for their teams and were instrumental in helping deliver state championships for their program for the first time.

Buford Midfielder Kamden Clack - He and his teammate Drew Maloney were named to the Gwinnett Daily Post Super Six prior to the season starting. Clark had an electric year on the gridiron in 2024 finishing with 61 goals, 25 assists, 42 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers. Those numbers saw him named to the all-county team. When you watch him on the field, he is probably one of the most athletic players you will find with his ability to find a crease in the defense and get up the field quickly showcasing his elite playmaking. Clack can score or dish it off to a teammate for an easy look at the net resulting in goals a lot of the time. What separates him from the rest is how ambidextrous he is. He is equally effective with either hand on the stick which makes him a mismatch for defenders. Clack is currently committed to Ohio State and is one of the best in the peach state.

Buford Midfielder Drew Maloney - The biggest redemption story of them all. Maloney came off an injury his freshman year and delivered as a sophomore for the Wolves. He is a star on the pitch and hit the game-winning shot in overtime for the Buford Wolves that cemented its first-ever title in program history. Maloney finished with 31 goals, 27 ground balls, 10 assists, and eight caused turnovers. He made his announcement back on September 21st that he was committing to Syracuse. He will be one of the best players to watch this season in lacrosse.

Wesleyan Attacker Jake Meyer - Another stud player from Gwinnett who is committed to Syracuse and will join his friend Drew Maloney. He finished his junior year with 39 assists, 31 goals, 26 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers. He was named an all-American and was a first-team all-area selection for his efforts on the field in 2024 and for making history for the Wesleyan Wolves who captured their first state title in program history. In doing so, Meyer was a catalyst in helping Wesleyan beat rival Westminster to stop their chances at back-to-back state championships and their eighth in program history. Meyer also crossed a milestone back on March 9th 2024 surpassing 200 career points in his career (127 goals, 73 assists). He’s already had an illustrious career and has established himself as one of the best in the country. With him back in the fold in 2025, Wesleyan has a chance to repeat as champions.

Lambert Defender Andrew Pascarella - According to the Inside Lacrosse recruiting database, Pascarella is ranked as a four-star and one of the best defensive prospects in the 2026 class. He is rated as a 4.5 out of 5 prospect. He is a top 100 selection for Inside Lacrosse and proved during his sophomore season he can go against stellar competition and stand out making an impact on the game. Pascarella is currently committed to Georgetown.  He was a valuable contributor for the state-runner-up in 7A last season who fell just one goal short of glory. The Longhorns are as talented as they ever were and will have one of their defensive stalwarts back and ready to make a difference this upcoming season.

Walton Long Stick Oliver Skeean - He started off his career hot for the Walton Raiders as a freshman in 2021 scoring 30 goals as a short-stick. He took his game to another level as a sophomore winning all-American honors. After another stellar season in 2024 for the Raiders, Skeean was selected as Cobb County Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year by the county coaches. He finished his junior season with 17 goals, 67 ground balls, 56 caused turnovers, and two assists. Mind you Skeean is a defender at heart, but what makes him special is his offensive skillset and the pressure he can put on a defense resulting in easy chances for the offense and potential goals. Walton came up just short of powerhouse Lambert in the semifinals but Skeean was a key factor in nearly pulling off the upset. He finished with two goals and two forced turnovers in the final three minutes of the game. He is already a two-time all-American as he enters his senior year and the youngest in Walton program history. Skeean has already caught the attention of college coaches and one premier program at the next level in Maryland where he is currently committed. Maryland has won four national championships in its history and is always a contender to make a run in the playoffs. Skeean will be a key factor for the Raiders this season in pursuit of their first-ever title.
