Top Goal Scorers Through The First Half Of The Season In Lacrosse

Lacrosse season is in full swing with the majority of teams having played at least five games to this point. Let’s look at some of the top goal scorers* in lacrosse this season and a look at some of their recruitment.

Newnan Midfielder Lloyd Weaver- Weaver lead the state in goals this season with 24 and has already set a career-high in goals and assists this season. He had his best outing recently against Dutchtown scoring seven goals and finishing with three assists leading the Cougars to a 20-0 victory. Newnan is off to a 4-2 start this season, their best since 2020.  Weaver is averaging 4.8 goals per game and has been a key offensive piece for the team this season. He is currently uncommitted.

Hebron Christian Attacker Jackson Wolfe- Wolfe leads his teammate Max Steve by just a goal but also has been very effective this season. He has 23 goals and 12 assists. One of his best games came in a dominant 18-1 victory over Gainesville where he scored four goals and dished out four assists. He’s had three games this season where he has a total of seven points, including a three game stretch towards the end of February. Wolfe committed to Wingate University back on February 26th.

Hebron Christian Attacker Max Steve- Steve has scored 22 goals and is one of the top goal scorers this season in the state. He also has 15 assists to go along with his goals accounting for 37 points. Steve has been on a terror lately especially in his last three outings scoring 11 goals during that span. He is not just getting it done scoring but also setting up his teammates with goals netting eight assists during the past three games. The duo of Steve and Wolfe is one of the best ones in the state and why the Lions are off to a 6-1 start after picking up a 20-1 win over Collins Hill. Hebron Christian is surprising people in Division 2 this season and could be a dangerous team in the playoffs.

Wesleyan Attacker Munch Jones- Jones is currently the fourth leading goal scorer in the state with 21 goals, but leads everyone with 38 points and 17 assists in 2025. Jones is already off to a good start to his junior season after setting career-highs in goals (44), assists (24), and points (68) last season for Wesleyan. He is nearing half of his goal total already through just six games this season. Jones is averaging 3.5 goals per game. He has three games this season where he has scored four or more goals. Those games came against South Forsyth, Westminster, and Mount Paran. His best game of the year came in the season opener against South Forsyth when he finished with six goals and four assists totaling 10 points. Jones has been a key cog in the 6-0 start to the season for the Wolves and why they are a contender once again in Division 1. He is currently committed to Bellarmine University.

Dacula Attacker Mason Schmitt- The sophomore phenom is off to a blazing start for the Falcons and has been a go-to scorer this season. He is averaging 2.6 goals per game and leads the team with 21 goals this season which is tied fourth most in the state. He’s led Dacula to a 5-3 start so far and has been a key reason behind an improved offense in 2025. His ability to always have the team in goal scoring position has been pivotal to their success.
