Georgia was able to crack the scoreboard thanks to a Blair Walsh field goal and a Knowshon Moreno touchdown to cut Alabama’s lead to 31-10. The offense showed it can move the ball when it utilizes short and intermediate routes, as that is all Alabma is allowing them to have. Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is keen on defense, with secondary play being his specialty. Do not expect the Bulldogs to have any cheap scores in the fourth quarter. Alabama will make them use clock. Green is still an X-factor, however, as his size and athletic ability gives him a chance of beating double and triple coverage.
Much kudos goes to the Bulldog crowd tonight. Just by looking at them, you would not know who was winning. That same type of enthusiasm has remained in the Bulldog players as well. The energy from the blackout is still there, but Georgia just may be in too big of a hole for it to make a difference. Alabama must not get to conservative, however, as the Bulldogs are down by three touchdowns. The Tide really put pressure on the Georgia defense by passing early in the game and might be wise to return to that strategy.
Going into the fourth quarter, Georgia has the momentum, but do they have enough time to comeback? I say they will make the final score respectable, but a win may be asking for too much.
