Talent returns for an all-around, championship-caliber GHSA gymnastics season

The 2024 A-5A All-Around Champion, Hannah Aoki, is returning for her senior season. Aoki, one of the top gymnastics recruits in the country, signed with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in November. At last year’s state championship, she won the Beam event, placed second on Bars, third on Floor, and fourth on Vault, finishing with a final score of 38.550, a .650-point lead over the runner-up.

In addition to Aoki, 13 state finalists who placed in last year’s competition are returning for the 2025 season. Among them is Katie Andrew, the 6A-7A All-Around Champion, who scored an outstanding 38.850 in last year’s meet, winning the Bars and Floor events. Other notable returning competitors include Emma Howells, the A-5A Bars champion, who is back for her sophomore season. Katelynne Tatum will also be back, the Westchester University commit will return for East Forsyth after winning the A-5A Floor title last year. Additionally, A-5A All-Around runner-up and Brockport commit Hannah Schultz will be back, aiming for the title after falling just short to Aoki last year.
