Cedartown’s junior 4-star cornerback Tae Harris has decommitted from the University of Georgia after being committed to the Bulldogs since June 19, 2023. Harris’ decommitment comes after visits to Florida and Georgia Tech, who both view Harris as a top target in their 2025 recruiting class.
When announcing his decommitment, Harris had this to say via ‘X’.
“First off, I want to thank God for blessing me with these opportunities he has placed in front of me. Without him, I am nothing. I want to thank all of the UGA staff for taking their time to recruit me and seeing my talent. A special thanks to Coach McGee and Muschamp for visiting me often through the spring. After careful consideration and long talks with my mom and family, I would like to announce my decommitment from the University of Georgia. My recruitment is 100 percent open.”
Harris is the 27th-ranked cornerback in the country and the 221st-ranked player overall according to 247Sports. Harris was one of the headline players in this year’s Georgia Elite Classic in December, where he had a terrific outing making five tackles, one tackle for loss, and a pass breakup, helping his team to the 21-17 win. He has since gained six Power Five-offers, including offers from Florida and Georgia Tech, who are viewed as the leaders in his recruitment at this time.
