
Westminster hosted the 54th-edition of the Atlanta Metro Invitational over the weekend when where Cambridge’s boys and Marist’s girls came out on top.
On the boys side, Cambridge scored 147 points to defeat hosting Westminster by just six points.
For the girls, the Marist War Eagles scored 138 total points and defeated second-place Midtown by six points to take home the victory.
One of the top performances of the day came from Midtown sophomore swimmer, Sarah Paisley Owen as she won multiple events in the invitational over the weekend.
Owen took home first place in the 100-Free, the 100-Fly, and the 200-Free.
In the boys events, Westminster sophomore Connor Christopherson won the 50-Free and the 100-Free. Christopherson helped the Wildcats finish second in the event, scoring a total of 141 points.
One of the major stories of the weekend was the performances out of the underclassmen featured in the event as a total of 15 freshman and sophomores placed on the podium after the event. The 15 underclassmen earned a total of 40 podium finishes.
