The football team notched its third impressive victory of the season last Friday with a comfortable 41-0 defeat of Region 6-AA opponent Lovett. Buford did most its damage on the ground, accumulating 323 yards, with Cody Getz and Storm Johnson accounting for 286 of the yards. On the night, Getz rumbled for 127 yards including touchdown runs from 5, 2, and 11 yards out, giving him a county-leading seven scores on the year. Quarterback Michael May wasn’t too shabby either, going 9-11 with 168 yards and one interception. The Wolves are off this week before traveling to Decatur on Sept. 26 for a 7:30 p.m. start. … The softball team was in action three times last week, defeating Avondale 14-0, Hillgrove 5-0, and Greater Atlanta Christian 4-1. The Wolves are busy this week, competing in games against Brookwood on Wednesday and Ringgold and East Coweta on Friday, and in the Brookwood Invitational on Saturday. … The volleyball team went 3-1 last week, defeating Lakeview Academy 2-0, St. Francis 2-0 and Gainesville 2-1 while falling to Dacula in two games. This week, the team has two home matches on Thursday and will compete in the GACS-A/AA Top Ten Playday on Saturday.
