No. 8 Whitewater improved to 11-6, 7-3 with a 3-2 victory over No. 9 McIntosh on Tuesday off a walk-off homerun from Zachary Betsill which capped off a seventh-inning comeback for the Wildcats.
McIntosh took the lead in the top of the fourth inning on a two-out single from Jake Woods which scored Andrew Pickney to put the Chiefs up 1-0. In the top of the fifth inning, pitcher Ty Butler scored Andrew Villager on a sac-fly to put McIntosh up 2-0 before a short rain delay. Following the storm, it was Whitewater’s game.
The Wildcats tied the game on a two-run Maddox Mueller single in the bottom of the seventh inning before Betsill’s game-winning homer.
