Edmonds is the latest recruit to make his decision as recruiting season begins to heat up and chose the Crimson Tide over Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, and many others. He detailed his reason for committing to Alabama with Bama247 writer Brett Greenberg.
“It’s the most home and family feel with the best and truest relationships,” he explained the ultimate decision with Bama247. “I feel like I can be the most successful on and off the field there. Also, it’s just an overall feeling that I don’t feel anywhere else but ‘Bama.”

Edmonds is the highest-rated corner in Georgia since Travis Hunter in the Class of 2022, who was the No. 1 player in the country according to 247Sports at the time. According to 247Sports, Edmonds is rated as a five-star cornerback, the No. 1 cornerback, No. 2 player in Georgia, and No. 10 player nationally. Edmonds blew up in the late winter and early spring dominating at UA Camp in Atlanta and also 7 on 7 play with the City Reapers. In turn, he got more attention from On3 and 247Sports who
On offense this season, he finished with 32 catches, 648 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he finished with 30 tackles, three pass breakups, and one tackle for loss. Edmonds continued to improve as the season went on and was an unstoppable player on both sides of the ball.
Alabama is a program known for producing and developing high-end defensive back talent. A number of their players have gone on to make the NFL and have great careers. A recent example, although under the Tutelage of Nick Saban, is Caleb Downs. Downs played a season at Alabama before transferring to Ohio State and was named Shaun Alexander Freshman Player of the Year, SEC Freshman of the Year, first-team all-SEC, and all-American honoree.
Edmonds has some of that same potential to be an elite prospect at the collegiate level. He was a part of an improved defense for Sprayberry who gave up an average of 17.4 points per game, including two shutouts. The Yellow Jackets held five opponents this season to single digits. He was a shutdown corner this season and could take away a side of the field when he wasn’t shutting down opposing receivers, Edmonds was making plays in the open field showing he is a complete cornerback who can tackle at a high level. Alabama fans should be happy landing one of the best prospects who could potentially be an impact player for the Crimson Tide.
