Special teams spark Knights to 35-9 win

So often during the course of a game, special teams can change the fortune and momentum from one team to another. Rarely however, do two of those game-changing plays happen back-to-back. After Northview took the opening drive 70+ yards for a touchdown, the Knights were able to block the extra point, leaving the game 6-0. On the following kickoff Gabe Howard took the ball 96 yards, giving the Knights a 7-6 lead they wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the way. Quarterback James Floyd scored the team’s second touchdown on an 18-yard run, and along with the help of a Euclid Cummings blocked punt, Centennial was able to ease their way to a 35-9 victory. Friday the Knights will host region rival Roswell, in a rematch of one of last year’s top games. … The volleyball team split two games on Thursday, bringing their record to 8-3 as they prepare for region play. Each of Thursday’s matches went to the third and final set, and it looked to take a toll on the team in their second game of the day against Creekview. The Knights will return home this week as they take on Collins Hill, South Forsyth on Thursday before traveling to Chattahoochee to open region play on Tuesday.
