The Collins Hill boys soccer team was hit hard by the opening of the new U.S. Development Soccer Academy as six players left the dominant Eagles program that has won three state titles since 2008 and appeared in each of the last five finals. Michael Burrell is in his first season as head coach of the Collins Hill program and he has had to rely on a host of underclassmen including junior Paul Ille. Ille has come through for his coach, scoring four goals in a recent game and netting more than 20 on the season as Collins Hill currently sits 11-6 after a tough loss on Senior Night to East Coweta.
Sonic and Score were on hand during Tuesday’s game at the majestic Fahring Field to recognize Ille as the Sonic High School Player of the Week. Ille instantly added a spark when he entered the game late in the first half, nearly coming away with a pair of goals before intermission.
Congratulations to Paul. Sonic is a proud supporter of Georgia high school sports and will be on hand at Milton this Thursday to recognize the boys lacrosse team.
