Make that 25 of 27, as Pius notched a huge 21-10 victory on Friday night. A quick start was crucial for the Golden Lions, as they gained confidence by scoring on their first two possessions to take a 14-0 lead. The first score came on a 28-yard pass from P.G. Standard to Matt Pierce. Cole Moon scored on the next drive. Marist hung around and trailed 21-7 at halftime, but a 1-yard Marist touchdown run was called back by a penalty in the second half, forcing Marist to kick a field goal as Pius led 21-10. The Golden Lions travel to Greater Atlanta Christian this week for a 7:30 p.m. game. … The No. 2-ranked volleyball team gets back to action this week with home matches against Carver-Atlanta and Washington this Tuesday and Westminster and Dacula on Thursday.
