Score Atlanta/790 The Zone Game of the Week

Few teams have been as surprising this year as the Chapel Hill Panthers. The 6-1 team (5-1 in Region 4-AAAAA) has already surpassed its season record for wins, and will try to keep up the momentum when it travels to Creekside (4-3, 3-3) for the Seminoles’ Homecoming game.

Chapel Hill’s first-year head coach Chris Parker, a former Sequoyah assistant, has the program in position to make the playoffs for the first time in its history. The upstart Panthers are coming off possibly the biggest win in school history last week, as they beat East Coweta 13-7. Their only loss is to No. 5 Newnan.

Creekside, on the other hand, has already lost to East Coweta, Newnan, and South Fulton rival Westlake. The Seminoles’ playoff hopes are still very much alive, however, as they are just one game out of the No. 4 position in Region 4. Chapel Hill is currently all alone in second place.

This should be an interesting matchup between two programs that are trying to make their way in the state’s highest classification after competing in Class 4A last year. No doubt the established Creekside program will want to hold serve at home, especially on Homecoming, and inch closer to a postseason berth.
