During his first two years as head coach at South Carolina, Steve Spurrier was fairly quiet concerning his matchups with the Dogs, which was in sharp contrast to his demeanor during his time at Florida. Of course, he lost his first two games against Georgia as the Gamecocks coach, while his Gators went 11-1 against Georgia. Then, last year after South Carolina beat Georgia 16-12, Spurrier said the following: “It wasn’t like they were some big, powerful team. They’ve actually lost five in a row to Eastern Division opponents. Kentucky and Vandy beat ‘em last year.”

3. “Well, Mark Richt is still the coach there, isn’t he?”
2. “During recruiting they sign all the great players, and when it is time to play the game, they have all the great players.”
1. “You can’t spell ‘suck’ without USC.”
