Replacement QB fits in nicely, leads Comets to first victory of season

The football team visited Meadowcreek seeking its first win of the year and Kerry Jividen filled in nicely for injured quarterback Mike Polascik, as he scored a rushing touchdown and also threw a scoring pass to Aaron Wimberly in the Comets’ 52-18 win. Derrick Brown scored two touchdowns with 140 yards rushing, and Michael Bradford and Kenneth Ricks would each add a score in the win. The Comets host Grayson on Friday. … The softball team flexed its Region 8-AAAAA muscles with a 5-1 victory over Central Gwinnett . Rachel Ludick recorded the win, striking out five batters in the process. At the plate, Jordan Suther scored twice and collected two hits. Beth Rawson notched two hits with an RBI and Heather Smith tallied a run along with two hits. Ludick was even better in the team’s next game against St. Pius X, going seven innings while allowing just a single hit and a single run but taking the hard-luck loss in a 1-0 defeat. … The volleyball team managed to take one game against Loganville but lost the match 2-1.
