Raiders trail until it counts, escape with 15-13 victory

The Raiders football team started the season out with a bang, winning an exciting game against Class A foe Holy Innocents. The team won 15-13 after trailing much of the game. The team’s next game is at home against Class 2A Blessed Trinity (1-0) on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team has started the season 3-2. The team is coming off a tough 7-4 loss to Westminster on Saturday, Aug. 23. The Lady Raiders started out the season winning three of four games in the Marietta Invitational, defeating Marietta, Chattahoochee and Pace Academy. The lone loss was to Class 4A Hiram. The team travels to Lovett on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. first pitch. … The volleyball team is currently 5-7 but is coming off a 2-1 win over Class 5A North Cobb. The Lady Raiders seem to have turned their season around, as they have now won four of their last six matches. Their next match is Thursday, Sept. 11 at South Forsyth where they will take on South Forsyth and Alpharetta.
