Saturday night was déjà vu of last year for Raiders fans, as the football team was able to shut out Douglass for a 28-0 win. Last year, the Raiders posted four shutouts, including two consecutive shutouts in the second and third weeks of the season. Something that didn’t show up in last year’s shutouts, however, did on Saturday, and that was the offense. The team followed up its 37-point performance in Week 1 with a four-touchdown night, a point total the Raiders only surpassed once all of last season. The win sets up a contest between the Raiders and the undefeated Wildcats from Whitewater. The Wildcats are ranked third in the GPB/Score Atlanta rankings for Class 4A and sport an offense that can throw and run at will. It will be a battle of two powerful offenses when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night. … The softball team rebounded from a 15-0 loss a week ago but still fell short, as they lost to Douglas County 12-4. The four runs were the most the Lady Raiders had scored in a loss all season. Next week, the team gets plenty of home cooking, as it hosts Therrell and Alexander.
