The football team lost to Roswell 17-6 on Oct. 17. The Raiders were unable to bounce back from the loss, and were defeated by Pope last week 23-7. The Raiders have now lost five games in row, and are 2-5 in Region 6-AAAAA play and 3-5 overall. The team will host Kell this Friday for senior night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. … The volleyball team played in the 2008 GHSA Class 5A State Tournament last Saturday, facing No. 6-ranked Kennesaw Mountain. The Raiders lost 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-18) to end their season. … The ice hockey team lost to Peachtree Ridge 8-4 two weeks ago at the Marietta Ice Center. The Raiders also played Harrison last Friday and won 5-3. William Aiken notched a goal and an assist, and Chris Bastecki scored two goals. The team will face Harrison again in two weeks on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Kennesaw TC. … Tryouts for the boys basketball team started on Monday, and will continue through Thursday. The season is set to kickoff on Nov. 21, beginning with the North Gwinnett Thanksgiving Tournament.
