Raiders drop one, rebound at Roswell

The football team cruised to a 7-0 record for the most part, but knew that the last three games would be the toughest, as the Raiders would face opponents that have been playing good football. On Oct. 24, the Raiders took on Lassiter but could not stop Chip Lindsey’s version of the spread offense as the Trojans won, 31-24. The Raiders had no time to dwell on the loss, because they had to face Roswell on Halloween Night. With the help of Michael Boydston, the Raiders were able to get past the Hornets, 28-21. The Raiders relied on clock management to get the win, as the senior running back carried the ball 45 times for 251 yards and four touchdowns. Boydston now has over 1,900 yards rushing for the season and 25 touchdowns. The Raiders will face Pope in their season finale on Friday. … The boys cross country team won the region championship as it scored 47 points. Will Bryfczynski led the Raiders with a time of 16:28, which was good enough for fifth place. Phillp Laskey and Andrew Daniel came in sixth and eighth place, respectively.
