RAIDER NO MORE: Dudley leaves Walton for Ware County

According to the AJC’s Todd Holcomb, Ed Dudley has left Walton High School and will be introduced Friday as Ware County football’s new head coach.

Dudley led the Raiders to the Class 5A semifinals in 2004 and 2007, and finishes his career at Walton with a 108-50 record. Walton reached the postseason in 12 of 14 seasons under Dudley, including 2008 when the Raiders finished 9-2 with a Region 6-AAAAA title.

Though Ware County reached the Class 4A state championship game in 2007, the Gators finished just 6-6 in 2008 after a preseason No. 1 ranking in our top 10 poll, as well as the AJC’s.
