Punt return TD and Burkhalter help Titans cruise to victory

The football team shook off some early game jitters on Friday, turning a close eight-point halftime lead into a 20-point romp over Oconee County, 37-13. The Titans (1-0) got a big boost from running back Sam Burkhalter, who ran for over 160 yards, while their special teams helped to build the big lead. With Blessed Trinity holding onto their one-score lead, Jake Skole returned a punt back for a touchdown, giving the Titans a double-digit lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. This Friday, the football team will travel to Riverwood for a 7:30 p.m. start. … It was a busy week for the volleyball team, as they swept a series of games in and out of the region. Blessed Trinity moved to 9-3, defeating Galloway, Atlanta International, Roswell, and Kennesaw Mountain. The team only lost one set and only two of their total nine sets were decided by five points or less. Blessed Trinity will have two region contests on Wednesday, against Fellowship Christian and Wesleyan, both beginning at 5 p.m.
