
Prince Avenue Christian had little issues in its 17-0 victory against North Cobb Christian in the second-annual Southeastern High School Baseball Classic Saturday at Buford.
The Wolverines – who are ranked No. 1 in Class 1A-3A Private – led 2-0 after the first inning, 6-0 entering the third inning and 13-0 entering the fourth inning. In the fourth inning, Prince Avenue scored four runs to force the run-rule, ending the championship game in the top of the fifth inning.
Prince Avenue advanced past Tallulah Falls 7-0 and Buford 14-3 to set up the championship with North Cobb Christian. The Eagles defeated Piedmont (AL) 14-0 and lost to Lewisburg 6-5 on their path to the championship game.
Buford secured third place in the Classic with a 10-0 victory against McEachern, led by Caleb Williams, who had three hits in four trips to the plate along with a solo home run and the game-ending hit. Lio Garcia was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Cannon Goldin was 2-for-2 with a solo home run and an RBI for the Wolves.
