PREPS: Parkview-Stephenson battle wins Comcast contest

Comcast challenged metro Atlanta high schools featured on episodes of “GHSA On Demand” to rally their community to watch their team’s episode. To make this contest a touchdown, the two schools featured in the episode would share a $1000 prize. The teams that scored the highest viewership this season were the Parkview Panthers and the Stephenson Jaguars. While the Parkview vs Stephenson game was a close one with the Jaguars winning in overtime, both teams were clear winners in this contest. Each school will be awarded $500 courtesy of Comcast.

Both schools are excited to win. “Thanks to all the students, parents and friends who helped us win this contest,” said Parkview High School principal David T. Smith. “As always, support from the Parkview community is invaluable to our success. We look forward to utilizing the prize money to help our Athletic Department.” Brian Bolden, Stephenson High School principal was also thrilled saying, “It is a great pleasure to accept this prize from Comcast. The money will be used as part of our new Hall of Fame project which recognizes Stephenson High School students who excel in one of three categories: Athletics, Academics or The Arts. I’d like to thank the friends and family of Stephenson High School for their continued support of our students.”

Comcast and GHSA are committed to supporting high school sports and the local community. Fans can relive the action from the 2010 GHSA football season on “GHSA On Demand” from Comcast. To watch episodes of GHSA On Demand, Comcast subscribers go to On Demand > Get Local ATL > Atlanta Sports.
