The GHSA flag football playoffs begin Thursday for the first and second rounds before the quarterfinals Monday and the semifinals on Dec. 12. The state championships close out the season at Mercedes-Benz Stadium from Dec. 16-18.
In the state’s highest division (4), undefeated McEachern (23-0) enters the playoffs ranked at the top and wanting its first state title.
The Indians lead South Forsyth, Paulding County, Denmark and Central Gwinnett in the top 5. In Division 3, Milton is the team to beat and Blessed Trinity is ranked right behind the Eagles. Pope, Pace Academy and Langston Hughes round out the top 5. Locust Grove leads Division 2 with Greenbrier, Loganville, Allatoona and Oconee County in the top 5.
Southeast Bulloch tops Division I and is leading Dodge County, Harris County, Columbus and Redan in the top 5.
