Player of the Week, November 12 – Bret McDaniel, Riverwood

McDaniel, a junior, won the Class 3A GHSA Cross Country Championships last weekend in Carrollton, posting a time of 18:44.23 (nearly 20 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor). She finished second in the state meet last year as a sophomore, and also placed second in both the 1600- and 3200-meter events at the state track meet in May. She ran a personal-best 18:09.80 at the Bob Blastow Invitational in August.
