The Seckinger baseball team entered the school’s young history books as senior RHP Harry Pirkle tossed the first no-hitter in the school’s history on Monday night against the Brunswick Pirates.
Pirkle pitched in all seven innings as the senior threw for three strikeouts and walked two batters on the way to the Jaguars’ 5-0 shutout victory over Brunswick.
The Jaguars improved to 15-10 after the victory over Brunswick and are sitting at fourth in the Region 7-5A standings behind Roswell, Johns Creek and Gainesville with a 9-6 region record.
Pirkle’s no-hitter on Monday night gave the Seckinger baseball team its second win in its last three games, including a 6-5 victory over Roswell that went into extra innings.
On the season so far, the senior pitcher has totaled a 5-1 record in nine appearances on the mound this season with 51 total strikeouts.
While he has been effective from the mound, Pirkle has shown his capabilities at the plate as well with a .329 average and 25 hits on the season and 13 RBIs to round out his hitting statistics in 2025.
Pirkle is a three-year varsity baseball player for Seckinger as his numbers have improved the more opportunities he gets on the field year after year.
His 1.35 ERA through 25 games so far this season is a top-50 ERA from a Georgia high school pitcher this season.
In the win against Brunswick, Pirkle along with senior Andrew Carr were the only two Jaguars to record multiple hits in the shutout victory.
Seckinger will be back in action tonight against Savannah Christian with first pitch slotted for 6 p.m. before the Jaguars continue their busy week with another game against Brunswick tomorrow at 6 p.m.
