Georgia State’s placekicker Iain Vance was honored by the Fred Mitchell Award as a placekicker who displayed excellence on the field and in the community in the month of September. During the month, the Duluth, Ga., native was perfect on field goals (5-for-5) and extra points (13-for-13) in the Panthers’ first four games. His highlight was, of course, his game-winning, 30-yard field goal with one second left to defeat Campbell.The fifth-year senior began October by booting a career-long 49-yard field in last week’s win over Morehead State.
ATLANTA–Georgia State quarterback Drew Little earned honorable mention recognition for national Quarterback Performer of the Week in NCAA FCS by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).
Little turned in his best performance of the season in last Saturday’s 37-10 victory over Morehead State. The redshirt freshman from McDonough, Ga., completed 21 of 29 passes for 287 yards with four touchdown passes, all in three quarters of play.
Over the last three games, Little has completed 62 of 90 passes (69 percent) for 677 yards with six touchdowns and just one interception.
