The Kennesaw State men’s golf team has announced the 2012-13 schedule and the Owls will be heading to several new destinations.
“We have scheduled some great events this season that will allow us to play against some tough competition, as well as play close to home so that our fans can come out and support us,” said head coach Jay Moseley in a team release. “We added more regular season tournaments to the schedule in hopes to get the team better prepared for postseason play and give us an opportunity to play some phenomenal courses that will help us improve.”
The Owls will open up the season in September at the Carpet Capital Collegiate at the Farm, followed by the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate and the Rees Jones Intercollegiate. Kennesaw State has won the Rees Jones title the past two years.
The fall schedule wraps up with the Autotrader.com event at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Atlanta, then the Pinetree Intercollegiate at the Owl’s home course.
“We are pumped to host our first ever event at Pinetree (Country Club),” said Moseley. “We have a great field lined up for the event and we look forward to defending our home course.”
The spring opens in Arizona in January, followed by two events in Florida and then Auburn’s Tiger Invitational. The Owls will co-host an event in Greensboro before taking part in the 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship Apr. 22-24 at the Chateau Elan Legends Course.
